Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Opens for Pre-Order in China Ahead of Global Expansion
Samsung has officially opened pre-orders for the Galaxy Z TriFold in China, marking an important global milestone for the company’s first tri-panel foldable smartphone. After its recent debut in South Korea, the device is now stepping onto the international stage, highlighting Samsung’s ambition to redefine the future of foldable technology.
Tri-Fold Design with Tablet-Like Display
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold introduces a bold new form factor with its innovative two-fold mechanism. When fully unfolded, the device transforms into a large 10.0-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, offering a tablet-like viewing experience. The foldable also features a 6.5-inch Full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover screen, allowing comfortable everyday smartphone use without fully unfolding the device.
Performance and Software Experience
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z TriFold is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset. It is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage, ensuring flagship-level performance for multitasking, gaming, and productivity. The device ships with Android 16, layered with Samsung’s One UI 8 for an optimized large-screen experience.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold Price and Availability
In China, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold starts at CNY 19,999 for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. The higher-end 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model is priced at CNY 21,999. The phone is available in a single black color option and is currently open for pre-order across China.
In South Korea, the Galaxy Z TriFold is priced at KRW 3,594,000 and will go on sale starting December 12. Samsung also plans to expand availability to Singapore, Taiwan, and the UAE by the end of December, with a United States launch expected in the first quarter of 2026.
Camera Capabilities
The Galaxy Z TriFold packs a versatile triple-camera system. It includes a 200-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with optical stabilization and up to 30x digital zoom. For selfies and video calls, Samsung has added two 10-megapixel front cameras positioned on both the cover and inner displays.

Samsung has focused heavily on durability for its tri-fold device. The Galaxy Z TriFold features a titanium hinge, an armor aluminum frame, and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection. It also carries an IP48 rating, offering resistance against dust and water for everyday use.

The Galaxy Z TriFold also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, weighs around 309 grams, measures approximately 12.9mm when folded, and becomes remarkably slim at about 3.9mm when fully unfolded.
