Honor Magic V6 Debuts in China with Larger Batteries

Honor has officially introduced the Magic V6 foldable smartphone in the Chinese market shortly after its global reveal at the Mobile World Congress. The latest foldable device arrives with notable improvements, especially in battery capacity, along with confirmed pricing for different storage configurations. The Chinese version also brings a few regional differences compared to the global model, making it a slightly more powerful option for local buyers.

Larger Battery Options for Chinese Variants

One of the biggest highlights of the Chinese version of the Honor Magic V6 is its upgraded battery capacity. Honor has equipped the device with different battery sizes depending on the storage and memory configuration.

The variants with 256GB and 512GB internal storage come with a 6,850mAh silicon-carbon battery. Meanwhile, the premium version with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage features an even larger 7,150mAh battery. This is noticeably bigger than the global model, which is equipped with a 6,660mAh battery.

These large battery capacities are designed to provide longer usage time, especially considering the power demands of a foldable device with dual displays.

Fast Wired and Wireless Charging Support

Alongside the large batteries, the Honor Magic V6 also supports advanced charging technology. All variants of the device are compatible with 80W wired fast charging, allowing users to quickly recharge the large battery.

In addition to wired charging, the phone also supports 66W wireless charging. This combination ensures that users have multiple convenient ways to power up the device without long waiting times.

Official Pricing in China

Honor has revealed the official pricing for the Magic V6 in China across several memory and storage combinations. The foldable smartphone is positioned as a premium device in the high-end market.

The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at CNY 8,999, which is roughly equivalent to about 1,308 US dollars. The 12GB RAM with 512GB storage version costs CNY 9,999, around 1,454 dollars.

For users who need more performance, the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage variant is available for CNY 10,999, which converts to approximately 1,600 dollars. The top-tier model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage carries a price of CNY 11,999, roughly 1,745 dollars.

Pre-orders for the device have already started in China, while official deliveries are scheduled to begin on March 13.

Performance and Hardware Specifications

The Honor Magic V6 is powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This advanced chipset is designed to deliver strong performance for multitasking, gaming, and productivity tasks.

The foldable smartphone also features high-end camera hardware. It includes a triple rear camera system with a dedicated periscope telephoto lens that supports 3x optical zoom. This setup allows users to capture detailed photos at various distances.

Display and Durability Features

As a foldable smartphone, the Magic V6 includes two displays. The outer cover screen measures 6.52 inches, allowing users to perform regular smartphone tasks without opening the device.

When unfolded, the main display expands to a large 7.95 inches, offering a tablet-like viewing experience suitable for entertainment, reading, and multitasking.

Honor has also focused on durability. The device carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, which means it offers strong resistance against dust and water.

Additional Features and Availability

Apart from the battery upgrade, the Chinese version of the Magic V6 also includes dual physical SIM card slots. Most of the other specifications remain similar to the global version of the device.

With powerful hardware, large batteries, premium displays, and multiple storage options, the Honor Magic V6 aims to compete strongly in the premium foldable smartphone market.

Consumers in China can already place pre-orders, and the first shipments are expected to start arriving on March 13.
