Apple made ripples in the market when it came out with IPhone XR which is cheaper than the IPhone XS and XS Pro. Different versions of the phone are available in different countries like China, Japan and USA. This phone comes with front and back glass build, an aluminum frame, IPS LCD screen, 6.1 inches display, scratch-resistant glass screen and iOS 12.

 When compared to IPhone XS released in the same year, IPhone XR is actually a downgrade in terms of features but it falls in the lower price range. It has the same operating system and A12 Bionic chipset as the previous IPhone XS.

IPhone XR comes with dimensions of 5.94*2.98*0.33 inches, weighing 194 grams. The front and back of this phone are made of glass with an aluminum 7000 series frame. It supports single SIM and the Chinese models support dual standby SIM. It is dust and water resistant up to 1m for 30 minutes. Apple Pay is supported via Master card, Visa card and it is AMEX certified.

As far as the screen is concerned, there is IPS LCD display with 16M colors. The 6.1 inches screen has 79% screens to body ratio and resolution of 828*1792 pixels. There is ample protection with the scratch resistant glass, oleo phobic coating, wide color gamut, 120 Hz touch sensing and true-tone. IPhone XR does not have a headphone jack as Apple has no intention of bringing it back. Speakers are present on the top and bottom of the phone, with stereo sound but they are less loud as compared to IPhone XS.

Platform and Memory

IPhone XR comes with iOS 12 which can be upgraded to iOS 12.2. The amazing Apple A12 Bionic chipset is used in this model too along with the Hexa core CPU and the Apply GPU (4-core graphics). There is no SD card slot and the phone has an internal storage of 64/128/256 GB with 3GB RAM.

Camera

It is no hidden thing that many people buy iPhones for the camera. IPhone XR has a single 12MP front camera with f/1.8 aperture. This camera supports HDR, Panorama and Quad-Led dual tone flash. Moreover, the video formats that are supported are 2160 pixels at 24, 30 and 60 frames per second.

For taking selfies, there is a 7MP camera with HDR support and 1080 pixels at 60 frames per second video support. Like most phones these days, this one also has active noise cancellation but the headphone jack is absent.

IPhone XR has NFC, A 2.0 USB port, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi along with Face ID, gyro, proximity, barometer and compass. Siri is still there for virtual assistance and natural language commands are supported.
