The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is set to reintroduce the Exynos chipset
Publish date: December 13, 2024, by: HussainSamsung has yet to officially announce the Galaxy S25 series, yet discussions about the Galaxy S26 lineup, anticipated for release in January 2026, are already underway. A recent rumor from a source on X suggests that Samsung intends to significantly incorporate Exynos processors in the S26 models.
This comes after challenges with the Exynos 2500, which reportedly hindered its use in the S25 series due to production yield issues. Consequently, it is believed that the S25 models will predominantly feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite, while the Exynos 2500, which has recently resolved its yield problems, may be reserved for the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Flip FE.
Samsung is optimistic that the anticipated Exynos 2600 for the Galaxy S26 series will not face the same manufacturing challenges as its predecessor, thereby decreasing the company's dependence on Qualcomm in the premium segment. However, it is important to note that this information remains speculative and unverified, so it may not be accurate. Nonetheless, this strategy appears to align with Samsung's business interests.
Earlier rumors regarding the S26 have suggested that the standard model may be discontinued, the S26 Ultra could be rebranded as the S26 Note, and the S26+ might be renamed the S26 Pro.
