Now that every mobile phone company is trying to introduce a new distinguishing feature, Samsung has come up with a foldable phone that everyone is talking about in 2019. Samsung Galaxy Fold comes with a 7.3 inch display with 1536*2152 pixels resolution. The internal storage cannot be expanded but it is already 512 GB so there will be no need for expansion. There is a 16MP camera and 12GB RAM with Android 9.0 for amazing performance. The phone also makes it to the top with a battery of 4380mah.

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy Fold has dimensions of 160.9*117.9*6.9mm when it is unfolded and 160.9*62.9*15.5 mm when it is folded. It weighs 236 grams which is slightly heavier than normal phones. A Nano sim card is inserted in the phone. Electronic sim card is also supported as there is verified Samsung Pay in the phone.

The display is dynamite AMOLED with capacitive touchscreen supporting 16M colors. The screen size is 7.3 inches with 85.7% screen to body ratio. Since the screen folds on itself, it is protected, kind of like a laptop. When the phone is folded, the screen is on the inside. Samsung Galaxy Fold has a finger print sensor which is present on the right end at the bottom where thumb or finger can easily reach. With this sensor, Bixby operator can also be launched for smart assistance. There are two speakers and the stereo sound comes from Dolby Atmos support. Just like many new phones these days, this one also does not have a headphone jack.

Platform and Memory

Samsung Galaxy Fold has the latest Android 9.0 Pie with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 for best performance. The Octa core CPU, Adreno 640 GPU and 12 GB of RAM ensure that the phone does not lack in terms of speed. There is no SD card slot and the internal storage is 512 GB.

Camera

There is a triple main front camera with 12MP (dual pixel), another 12Mp with 2x optical zoom and a 16MP ultra wide. Supported video speeds are 2160 pixels and 60 frames per second, 1080 pixels at 60/240 frames per second and 720pixels at 960 frames per second. There is a 10MP selfie camera with another 8Mp camera with depth sensor. The cover camera is 10Mp and is 26mm wide.

COMMS

Samsung Galaxy Fold supports Wi-Fi, 5.0 Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. Radio is not present in the phone but there is a 3.1 Type C1.0 reversible connector USB port. As mentioned above, finger print sensor is present along with Bixby virtual assistant, barometer, compass and gyro. A non-removable Li-Po 4380mah battery is present in Samsung Galaxy Fold for longer talk time. As compared to previous Samsung phones such as Samsung S9, this phone has much impressive features. The foldable design, triple camera and longer battery time make Samsung Galaxy Fold an update from the S series.

Samsung Galaxy Fold is available in Space Silver, Martian Green, Astro Blue and Cosmos Blue. It is priced at 1750EUR, $1980 In USA and 161,000 INR in India.
