OPPO F7 Review: An Innovative Feature-filled Phone

Chinese phones are taking over the market because of their price and specs. OPPO has delighted customers with camera and sleek designs in the past and it continues to do so with the OPPO F7. This new phone from the Chinese manufacturers comes with 3400mAH battery, face unlock, 16MP main camera, metal frame and Android 8.1 Oreo operating system.

Release Date and Price

Announced in March 2018, the phone was actually released in April 2018. It was priced at 270EUR, $246 and Rs33, 000 in Pakistan. 

Software

OPPO F7 uses the Color OS which has innovative features lacking in other phones. There is a gesture panel in the phone that can be activated by sliding it down. To turn on the camera, you have to draw a circle and you can activate the flashlight by drawing a V.

Similarly, you can activate apps by drawing things on the screen. You can also customize the drawings for your own apps. The phone also comes with an option to install CyanogenMod which increase the resolution. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and has a Mali G72 GPU. So, you will not have any concerns with performance or speed.

Performance of OPPO F7

You do not have to worry about the performance of this phone because there is Qualcomm snapdragon 801 chipset in it that performs flawlessly. When tested, the UI was found to be lag-free. There is 6GB RAM in the 128GB model and 4GB RAM in the 64GB model. There is a dedicated slot for SD card to expand storage up to 256GB but you will have to take the battery out for card insertion.

Camera

The camera on OPPO F7 is also quite impressive. There is a single 16MP rear camera with f/1.8. This camera has support for Panorama shooting, HDR and LED flash. For videos, you can record 1080 pixels of video quality at 30 frames per second.

·         The selfie camera of OPPO F7 is something that most people would buy the phone for.

·         It is a 25MP selfie camera that takes beautiful selfie.

·         For video recording, there is 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second support.

There is an Ultra HD mode, in which 4 pictures at taken at once and then they are combined together to form a 50 mega pixel picture.

Comparison of OPPO F7 with Older Models

As compared to the older OPPO 5, the newer model has many upgrades.

·         While the storage in OPPO 5 is only 32GB, the OPPO F7 has up to 128GB of storage.

·         The OPPO F7 is also available in 8GB model while the previous model is only available in 4GB RAM.

Miscellaneous

OPPO F7 has a 3.5mm headphone jack and active noise cancellation feature. Furthermore, it has a finger print sensor, MMS, Email and proximity sensor. The non-removable 3400mAH battery lets the phone run for 14 to 16 hours. Just like the older models, this one also has face recognition. OPPO F7 is available in Solar Red, Diamond Black and Moonlight silver.
