Nokia phones are competing with Chinese brands in the Asian markets since Nokia is releasing phones with good features and satisfactory display. Nokia 4.2 comes with 5.70 inches at 750*1520 pixels, a 13 MP camera, 3 GB of RAM and a 3000 mAH battery. At a low price range, this phone has included many features in this mid-range.

Price and Release Date

Nokia 4.2 was announced in February 2019 and was released in May 2019. The price is kept quite low at 10,990 INR in India, 150 Euros and $170 USD.

Smaller Display of Nokia 4.2

Nokia 4.2 has a 5.2 inches screen which is smaller than most flagship phones these days but is ideal for social media viewing and watching videos. The resolution of 1250*720 pixels might look dull to people who are used to using higher-end phones but is quite okay for this price. The phone has an IPS LCD touch screen display that has the same 16M colors as other phones right now.

There are 76.6 screens to body ratio and 19:9 screen ratios. In terms of design, the phone comes with a smooth finish and fits snugly in hand due to smaller size. Moreover, there is tear drop design that is less distracting as compared to the notch design.

How good is the SDM439 Chipset?

Nokia 4.2 runs on Android 9.0 Pie and has a Qualcomm SDM439 chipset with Octa Core CPU. The Adreno 505 GPU is not as speedy as other expensive Nokia phones but is quite good for daily use. There are a few pre0loaded apps and the phone seems less cluttered.

Since Nokia 4.2 has Android One, it receives all major Android updates, along with the minor ones, on timely basis. Nokia 4.2 has a 3000mAH battery that lasts for a whole day. When you charge it once, it goes on modestly for the day.

Nokia 4.2 Camera Performance

The 13MP camera with 2MP depth sensor is okay for taking pictures. Since there are not many features, the images appear washed out but you will get good quality in outdoor shots. In indoor shots, you will experience noise in the pictures. There is an 8MP selfie camera that does not have flash or HDR feature.

Comparison of Nokia 4.2 with Nokia 3.1 Plus

Nokia 3.1 Plus was released last year and has more features that Nokia 4.2 due to its higher price range. Battery life of 3.1 Plus is better due to its 3500mAH battery. The camera is same on both phones and so is the RAM. However, Nokia 4.2 is smaller in size as compared to the Nokia 3.1 Plus’ 6 inches screen.

Miscellaneous

Nokia 4.2 has FM radio support, Wi-Fi connectivity and USB 2.0 port. The finger print sensor is at the back and there is proximity sensor in the phone too. You can buy Nokia 4.2 in Black and Pink Sand color at a much reasonable price than many other low-range phones.
