LG G8 ThinQ

Announced in February, LG G8 ThinQ is expected to be available in May 2019 and is the latest LG phone in the market. Like all other phones from the company, this one also lacks in some features but has done wonderful in others. It comes with P-OLED touch screen at a size of 6.1 inches while a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is present for protection. The phone is operated by Android 9.0 and a Snapdragon chipset powers the phone. There is 128GB internal storage but it can be expanded with a dedicated micro SD card slot.

Display and Design

The design of LG G8 ThinQ is quite the same as the previous LG G7 ThinQ. There are slim bezels and instead of hole-punch camera, there is simply a notch. The sides are flat which helps in grip while the back and front edges are curved for an ergonomic finish. Google Assistant is also present in the phone and its button is well-placed.

There is a P-OLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors. There is enough color option to make the display vibrant and clear. The scree n is 6.1 inches and has an 83.5% screen to body ratio. With a 1440*3120 pixels resolution, LG G8 ThinQ provides good image quality. For Protection, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is there and other features include HDR 10, Dolby Vision and 100% DCI-P3. The phone weighs 167 grams and has dimensions of 5.98*2.83*0.33 inches. There are two options available; Single NANO SIM or a Hybrid Dual SIM. The HDR 10 makes colors look brighter especially the black on bright sunny days.

Platform and Memory

LG G8 ThinQ supports Android 9.0 Pie and has LG UX 8.0. Along with that, it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset. Adreno 640 GPU is used in the phone while the CPU is Octa Core GHz Kry9 485. LG G8 ThinQ comes with 128 GB storage and a 6GB RAM. The space can be expanded with a micro SD card of up to 512 GB. There is a dedicated card slot for that which is shared with the SIM card slot.

Camera

The camera on LG G8 ThinQ is quite impressive with 12MP main camera that has Dual Pixel PDAF. It is supported with a 16MP camera which is standard and another one which is ultra wide. You can get the dual or triple camera model. HDR, Panorama and LED Flash are also present in the phone. The video quality is 2160 pixels at 40 or 60 frames per second.

The selfie camera is 8MP with a TDF 3D camera. HDR is supported in the front camera for good image quality and video quality is 1080 pixels at 60 frames per second. The headphone jack is 3.5mm and LG G8 ThinQ also has a loud speaker.

Sensors and COMMS

LG G8 ThinQ supports Bluetooth, LTE, Wi-Fi and FM radio. Moreover, it has a finger print sensor, a Face ID, barometer and an accelerometer. There is a non-removable Li-Po 3500 mAH battery with fast charging.

Price and Colors

LG G8 ThinQ is available in Moroccan Blue, Aurora Black, Carmine Red and Platinum Gray. This phone has a better battery as compared to the LG G7 ThinQ’s 3000mAH. The price is expected to be 600 Euros, $680 in USA and 90,000Rs in Pakistan.
